Introduction

Dr. Leana Wen is a name you might not recognize, but a face you are now likely familiar with. She has created a bit of a reputation for herself over the last few months, as she appears on CNN from time to time using extremely dangerous rhetoric while discussing incentives for Covid vaccination in the United States. Often times she claims personal freedoms should not be re-extended to the general public unless they are vaccinated.

This is a far cry from where Dr. Wen began as a child prodigy, entering college at the age of 13, and previously advocating against “cookbook” medical practices where doctors use one-size-fits-all methods to diagnose and treat their patients.

Join me on a quick dive into her past, her associates, and her connections, as we track her decent into a CNN mouthpiece for woke medical tyranny.

Dr. Leana Wen’s CNN Appearances

Below is Dr. Wen’s first appearance on Cuomo Prime Time that garnered a lot of attention in early April 2021. She claims we can’t reach herd immunity due to “vaccine hesitancy” by Americans she smears as “anti-science anti-vaxxers.”

In order to make vaccination a more alluring option for the average American concerned about being a medical guinea pig for the Federal government, Dr. Wen tells Cuomo she wants Americans to believe the “vaccine is the ticket back to pre-pandemic life.”

She seems frustrated the window is narrowing to “tie re-opening policy to vaccination status. […] Otherwise, if everything is reopened, what’s the carrot going to be? How are we going to incentivize people to actually get the vaccine?”

While Chris Cuomo sits silently, not reacting to her rhetoric in any way, Dr. Wen begins advocating for Federal regulations to tie vaccination status with lockdown status.

Dr. Wen claims freedom should only be bestowed to those willing to stick their arm out for the shot:

“So that’s why I think the CDC and the Biden administration need to come out a lot bolder and say, ‘If you’re vaccinated, you can do all these things, here are all these freedoms that you have!’ Because otherwise, people are going to go out and enjoy those freedoms anyways.”

But it doesn’t end there. Instead of banning Dr. Wen from appearing on their network ever again like they should have, CNN hosts her constantly.

Later in April 2021, Dr. Wen appeared on CNN Newsroom to discuss similar topics, including: vaccines, patriotism, and freedoms that should be re-allocated only for those who are fully vaccinated. She doesn’t change anything about her message.

In fact, she doubles down:

Dr. Wen begins:

“The approach that Dr. Fauci and President Biden have been taking is a societal approach. They’re saying there is a light at the end of the tunnel for all of us together. And when we can reduce the level of infection in the community, increase vaccination rates, that’s when at some point, hopefully soon, but at some point we can relax the restrictions.”

This in itself isn’t awful, considering it is CNN Dr. Wen is working for, but it gets worse very quickly:

“I don’t know if that works for many Americans. For many people it probably does work to say, ‘Yes, we’re in this together, it’s patriotic, we’re doing this together.’ But I think a lot of people are thinking kind of selfishly, thinking ‘What’s in it for me?’ And they’re not willing to wait for this elusive herd immunity.”

She admits to the media and officials already using patriotic rhetoric to persuade reluctant Americans to get vaccinated, which is important. Joe Biden claims many things are patriotic, such as paying more taxes. According to Biden, if you disagree you’re “betting against America” and is currently proposing an extra $80 billion for the IRS in his American Families Plan to enforce more audits. Biden mirrors Dr. Wen’s language when he says it’s a “patriotic responsibility” for fully-vaccinated people to continue wearing masks.

And like Dr. Wen, Biden skews the notion of what patriotism means, especially when he says things like, “No Amendment to the Constitution is absolute.”

Dr. Leana Wen shares the same sentiments, while finishing off the segment:

“If we can tell those individuals who otherwise would not get vaccinated, if we say to them, “The moment of freedom for you is when you get vaccinated, when you reach the two week mark,” these are people that otherwise might not be vaccinated, so let’s give them that incentive.”

Who is Dr. Leana Wen?

Dr. Wen, was born in Shanghai, China, in 1983. She was known then as Wen Linyan (温麟衍). Dr. Wen and her family moved to the United States when she was 8 years old, and by age 13 she enrolled at California State University, Los Angeles, and graduated by age 18with a bachelor’s in Biochemistry. She was a Rhodes Scholar and pursued a master’s degree in global health at Oxford University.

While she was growing up in Los Angeles, Wen’s father worked as an information technology manager for China Daily (known as World Journal by the Chinese), which is an English language newspaper installed by Beijing as a foreign-facing propaganda publication as the Cultural Revolution in China ended. CDN censors topics such as Falun Gong and the Tiananmen Square Massacre from being mentioned anywhere. CDN also recently published an article written by Joe Biden in which he promised to “repair the broken immigration system and reunite families,” which could be interpreted as an open invitation.

But Dr. Wen’s father is just the tip of the iceberg when looking into her connections with corrupt media. Aside form her employment at CNN, Dr. Wen is also married to a leftist journalist with questionable work history as well. In 2012, Dr. Wen married South Africa native Sebastian Walker, who works for Vice News Tonight. Walker previously worked for Al Jazeera Media Network—the Qatari media conglomerate—from 2008 to 2016. Al Jazeera is widely seen as an anti-American media outlet, which has seen veteran news correspondents like Dave Marash resigning from the network because of it.

Dr. Wen also has connections with both globalist NGOs and United States government departments:

  • She served as a Global Health Fellow for the WHO in Geneva, Switzerland.

  • She was a Department of Defense David L. Boren Fellow, working on HIV matters in Rwanda.

  • She received a NIH Fogarty Minority International Research Training Fellowship. The same NIH departmentthat first funded the EcoHealth Alliance’s work on bat-related SARS Coronaviruses in Wuhan, China. Research led by the now-infamous Covid propagandist Peter Daszak.

  • She pushes for amnesty for illegal immigrants, penning op-eds about Dreamers and DACA.

  • Served as a consultant with the China Medical Board, a Rockefeller-funded venture in China. The Rockefeller Foundation is tied with eugenics programs, destructive commercial mining practices, and so much more, partially covered in a Lancet article about the RF and CMB below:

Dr. Leana Wen’s Shifting Perspectives on Medicine

In 2013, Dr. Wen co-authored a book titled, “When Doctors Don’t Listen: How to Avoid Misdiagnoses and Unnecessary Tests.” On page 4 of her book, Dr. Wen criticizes the “cookbook approach” used by most doctors, which “implies there is no deviation from the set recipe even as circumstances change.” A particular excerpt on page 5 also stands out:

“Doctors end up adopting the role of the automaton, following recipes and doing as directed, but no longer empowered to listen, to think, to diagnose, and to heal. Patients end up believing that their role is to help speed the checkbox ticking as quietly and obediently as possible. Worse still, they begin to internalize that this is the best and only way to receive medical care.”

In 2013, Dr. Wen also penned an article titled, “When Doctors Don’t Listen (And Hangover Leads To Spinal Tap)” covering the story of a college student who came to the emergency room for an intense hangover, only to be told she would need a spinal tap to rule out possible brain hemorrhage. Danielle ends up sneaking out of the hospital instead of moving forward with the medical procedures. Wen writes:

“All of us can sympathize with Danielle. She was young and scared, and she didn’t want a procedure that she didn’t really need. Instead of a rational discussion with her doctors where she could make sure her story was heard and ask about the risks and benefitsof testing, Danielle felt forced into doing something she didn’t want to do. She felt trapped—literally—by the doctors and nurses, by the hospital, and by the medical system.”

Comparing that to Wen’s stick and carrot metaphors for vaccination now, it’s hard to believe these things were said by the same person. So when did her authoritarian shift into medical tyranny begin?

In December 2014, Dr. Wen left her job as an ER doctor where she worked as an advocate for patient’s voices, according to her own articles, as she was appointed as Baltimore’s health commissioner. She oversaw a $130 million budget.

In 2015, Dr. Wen began to shift her perspective of herself and her role in public health. She wrote an articletitled, “Unrest in Baltimore: The Role of Public Health” in which she begins to take up the oh-too-familiar social justice narrative that pervades everything we see and hear in our modern Woke landscape.

After that, accolades and praise from large medical institutions such as the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Notre Dame, Washington University School of Medicine, and John’s Hopkins, came pouring in. Dr. Wen then appeared along sideBarack Obama and Sanjay Gupta at a medical summit in 2016.

She also received media attention within medical circles, named one of Modern Healthcare’s 50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders, and in 2018 as one of its Top 25 Minority Physician Executives. And In 2018, Baltimore named her health department the local health department of the year for her work in “health equity.”

In other words, once Dr. Wen went woke, the medical community rallied around her and gave her a seat of prominence.

Dr. Leana Wen & Planned Parenthood

In September 2018, Dr. Wen left her job with Baltimore’s health department and took the role of president of Planned Parenthood’s advocacy arm, “which lobbies for reproductive health issues, including wider access to abortion.”

The president of the antiabortion group Susan B. Anthony List, Marjorie Dannenfelser, released a statement saying, “Planned Parenthood’s selection of a doctor to be their next president is an opportunity to clean up their sorry record.” Many agreed that Dr. Wen’s appointment was done to attempt to “legitimize” Planned Parenthood in the eyes of Conservatives, by placing the first ever actual physician in the role of abortion advocacy. Considering Planned Parenthood’s own announcement of her appointment made sure to mention her work as a physician several times, the argument seems to hold water.

“Today is a historic day for Planned Parenthood and the millions of people it serves. After an extensive search, I’m proud to announce that Dr. Leana Wen will serve as our next president,” said Naomi Aberly, Chair of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America Board of Directors. “A dynamic public health leader and practicing physician, Dr. Wen is the first doctor to lead Planned Parenthood in nearly 50 years. [S]he will be a powerful voice in our fight to ensure women have the ability to make their own health care decisions — no matter what.”

It would soon be clear that Dr. Wen was simply a “real doctor” made the face of an unspeakably evil organization. Wen spoke to an audience in Providence Rhode Island where she said, “Abortion is part of the spectrum of full reproductive health care, and we know reproductive health care is health care. And health care is a human right.”

While president of Planned Parenthood, Dr. Leana Wen wrote an op-ed about how her own miscarriage made her want to advocate for women to be able to abort their babies easier. In it, she spun “scary” tales of women in Alabama, Tennessee, and Wisconsin, being investigated after suffering miscarriages as her insane reasoning.

Wen tried to rebrand Planned Parenthood as a healthcare provider to gain support, but Planned Parenthood’s board of advisors wanted to focus more on the politics, as President Trump was in the process of stripping Planned Parenthood of federal funding for abortion services.

Despite her newfound woke status in the medical community, Wen went against their wishes, and was fired after eight months of work. To inject my own opinion, it’s likely for the best, since her approach to pushing abortions in America was much more covert and wrapped in SJW rhetoric rather than the outright garish displays of abortion celebration you see from many at Planned Parenthood. She likely would have been much more effective, given time. After she was fired, Dr. Wen wrote an article for the New York Times in which she affirms that her focus at the time was expanding abortion.

In Closing

So there you have it. There’s the story of how an immigrant from China went from being a 13 year old prodigy studying biochemistry to a woke talking head on CNN discussing how medical tyranny is perfectly valid in response to refusing the Covid-19 vaccine.

A woman who once wrote a book that eloquently emphasized how medical pressure on patients leads them to accepting treatments they don’t want and can’t afford now says freedom should be tied to vaccination.

Wen asked what the “carrot was going to be” when really she should be asking herself how willing she is to chase woke status in the medical community by spouting off tyrannical nonsense on CNN, trading off any shred of credibility she might have once had.

Be careful who you lend credibility to on TV, folks. They’ve all got a past… and one by one, I’m going to dig them all up.
