Joe Biden opened his big fat mouth and weighed in on the Chauvin trial Tuesday morning after Judge Cahill blasted Maxine Waters and told officials to stop talking about the case.
Judge Peter Cahill blasted Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters on Monday for her threatening comments to jurors and inciting violence.
The verdict on the George Floyd-Chauvin case is expected this week and Minnesota authorities are bracing for massive violence once again.
The judge went off on Maxine Waters and called her incitement to violence “abhorrent” and “disrespectful” in response to a motion by Chauvin’s lawyer, Eric Nelson, to declare a mistrial.
“I’m aware of the media reports. I’m aware that Congresswoman Waters was talking specifically about this trial, and about the unacceptability of anything less than a murder conviction, talked about being confrontational,” Judge Cahill said. “But you can submit the press articles about that. This goes back to what I’ve been saying from the beginning. I wish elected officials would stop talking about this case, especially in a manner that is disrespectful to the rule of law and to the judicial branch and our function.”
Joe Biden said he spoke to George Floyd’s family on Monday and that he’s “praying the verdict is the right verdict.”
“I think it’s overwhelming, in my view,” Biden said, adding that he’s only now sharing his thoughts on the Chauvin case because the jury is sequestered.
It doesn’t matter if the jury is sequestered, Biden is throwing gasoline on the fire by weighing in the case and asserting that a guilty verdict is “the right verdict.”
